This past weekend Riverview BMX hosted the first qualifier weekend of the 2015 FLORIDA CUP SERIES. This series is ran by the Sunshine State Association (SSA). With many years of experience under their belt, the SSA events are a Florida staple on the BMX circuit. Starting in November and ending in May, the series is not only highly contested (89 motos on Saturday and 93 on Sunday), it is always fun and laid back.
MCS BICYCLES’ own Justin Riddell made the trip up to try an notch a couple good scores, as well as, use it as a last chance tune-up heading into the USABMX Grand Nationals in Tulsa in a couple weeks. Justin felt pretty good and was looking to put his HT20XL up on the top step of the podium, but had to settle for a third on Saturday and a fourth on Sunday. Although it wasn’t what he was looking for, it is still a good jump point for the series. Justin has been training hard and his first straights showed! All in all, it was a good weekend for him.
We are psyched at his results and can’t wait for the next one at Port Charlotte BMX in January. We hope you can make it too. For more information about the FLORIDA CUP SERIES check out http://floridabmx.org/.

Van Homan is a legend! Take a look at his perspective on BMX racing...
The MCS Bicycles Factory Team made the trek to Kissimmee, Florida for the annual USABMX Disney Cup. This event is a three day event in which the rider with the best cumulative score for all three days in each class will become the Disney Cup Champion. These cups are coveted by racers young and old, and pretty hard to get. Attendance was pretty good for this event with the moto count hitting just over 250. Riders were looking to get in some last minute scores heading into the Grand Nationals in Tulsa.
See you in a few weeks in Tulsa!
