The MCS Bicycles Factory Team made the trek to Kissimmee, Florida for the annual USABMX Disney Cup. This event is a three day event in which the rider with the best cumulative score for all three days in each class will become the Disney Cup Champion. These cups are coveted by racers young and old, and pretty hard to get. Attendance was pretty good for this event with the moto count hitting just over 250. Riders were looking to get in some last minute scores heading into the Grand Nationals in Tulsa.
This season has been filled with ups and downs. This trend continued into the Disney Cup weekend... Tucker Rice had some great laps in the motos, but got shut out of the mains. He is realizing just how tough that 17-18 Expert class is with recently aging up. He knows what he has to do and will be ready come Tulsa. Petey Peters has been putting in a lot of hard work although it didn’t really show. We are gonna give him a pass this weekend though, as he has an excellent reason... He and his wife Katherine have welcomed a baby girl into this world. We are all super excited to meet baby Roslyn! Raul Gomez was looking to take home another Disney Cup, but it just wasn’t to be. Raul took home a fourth, first and second in cruiser and an eighth, fifth and a third in class. Although he was happy to make all his mains, anybody that knows Raul will tell you he doesn’t settle for anything but first. This is going to give him that extra motivation for Grands! Justin Riddell made his presence known making the main all three days and ending the weekend up with a third on Sunday. He wasn’t in the hunt for a cup, but he showed that he is ready for Tulsa!
See you in a few weeks in Tulsa!
